Laura Irvine, FACHE, president of Methodist Dallas Medical Center, has been promoted to executive vice president for integration and alignment for Methodist Health System.
In this role, Irvine will lead the ongoing implementation of health care reform initiatives, integration and alignment of Methodist’s physician enterprises, accountable care organizations, expansion of care delivery centers, population health management, and growth in Methodist’s overall non-hospital health care delivery migration.
“As Methodist Health System continues to transform our organization to thrive in the new health care landscape, visionary leadership is essential,” says Stephen L. Mansfield, president and CEO of Methodist Health System, “Laura is uniquely skilled to accelerate Methodist’s growth and transformation in these critical areas.”
Irvine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Baylor University and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Trinity University. She began her career at Methodist in 1996 and has served in progressively more responsible positions from hospital leadership to strategic planning. In 2011, she was named president of Methodist Dallas Medical Center. During her tenure at Methodist Dallas, she has greatly elevated Methodist’s flagship medical center in quality and patient experience. Her leadership has strengthened multiple tertiary service lines and further enhanced emergency, trauma, and critical care services with this summer’s anticipated opening of the Charles A. Sammons Tower.
Irvine will remain in her current role as president of Methodist Dallas until a new president is named. Methodist will conduct a national search to name a new president by July 2014.
“From her roles in planning and marketing to clinical operations and new technology implementation, Laura has exemplified competency and leadership, has built and maintained strong relationships, and has held a true vision for Methodist throughout her career. It is always good to be able to promote great people from within and I am so pleased to see Laura continue to grow in responsibility and influence for the benefit of Methodist and the patients we serve,” added Dr. Mansfield.
