05/05/2011

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center has achieved Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).MANSFIELD, Texas – Methodist Mansfield Medical Center was honored recently with a Pathway to Excellence® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Methodist Mansfield is the third hospital in Tarrant County to receive the prestigious designation. The designation is given to health care organizations that create work environments in which nurses can flourish and substantiates the professional satisfaction of nurses working at the facility.

"This prestigious accomplishment identifies Methodist Mansfield as one of the best places to work for nurses," said Jeanne Reeves, chief nursing officer for Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. "Methodist Mansfield fosters a positive and nurturing work environment for nurses so they can provide the best possible care for our patients."

Methodist Mansfield directors huddle up around Chief Nursing Officer Jeanne Reeves as they are informed they received top honors from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Shown Celebrating the Pathway to Excellence® designation are Director of the Emergency Department Karla Ramberger, Manager of Telemetry Dawn Williams, Manager of the ICU Tim Taylor, Chief Nursing Officer Jeanne Reeves, Director of Med-Surg Ulondia Lee, Director of Education Cynthia Carter, Director of Cardiology Bernnie Kennedy, Director of OR Shelley Cook and Director of Women Services Vicki Wiseman.

For an organization to earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment – as defined by nurses nationwide and supported by extensive national research. These initiatives must be present in the local facility's practices, policies, and culture. Nurses in the organization verify the presence of the criteria in the hospital through participation in a confidential online survey.

"Receiving this achievement shows our commitment to excellence in nursing," said Laura Irvine, Methodist Mansfield president. "We're proud of our dedicated nursing staff for the hard work and contributions they make every single day."
