Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton Medical Centers Win Aetna Awards for Early Elective Delivery Infant Safety Programs
At Methodist Charlton
DALLAS – Aetna recently announced that Methodist Charlton and Methodist Dallas Medical Centers have met qualifications for recognition by Aetna for their Early Elective Delivery Infant Safety program. Aetna's fairly new recognition program offers public recognition to facilities that have demonstrated their commitment to infant safety by establishing safety guidelines for elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks, and have implemented a quality improvement program. The goal of this initiative is to assist Aetna members in choosing facilities whose policies and procedures address the risks posed to infants through elective delivery prior to 39 completed weeks of gestation. "Deep appreciation goes to all of those who helped respond to the data and earn these awards," says Methodist Health System Assistant Vice President Managed Care Shannon Huggins.
Methodist Mansfield Medical Center will submit data soon toward establishing the same recognition.
