DALLAS – For the second year in a row, Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital ranked in the top 10 percent of 797 inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) that qualified to be ranked in the IRF database of Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSmr) in 2010. Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital was cited for care that is effective, efficient, timely, and patient-centered.
"Our mission is to deliver comprehensive, efficient medical rehabilitation to persons with disabling conditions in order to provide them the opportunity to achieve the highest possible level of functional improvement," says Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital CEO Barbara Mobley "We are privileged to have fulfilled this mission for the past two years and our goal is to continue to carry this out on a daily basis. Quality, patient-centered care and functional improvement are our top priorities as we serve the rehabilitation needs of Dallas and the surrounding communities."
The rankings were determined by using UDSmr's program evaluation model (PEM), a case mix-adjusted and severity-adjusted tool that provides facilities with a composite performance score and percentile ranking drawn from nearly three-quarters of all IRFs in the country. The goal of the PEM Report Card is to recognize high-performing facilities for their delivery of quality patient care that is effective, efficient, timely, and patient-centered.
Methodist Rehabilitation Hospital opened in January 2008 and is a 40-bed comprehensive acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to improving the everyday life of patients recovering from the disabling effects of an illness or injury. The hospital is located in southwestern Dallas County, with easy access to Methodist Charlton and Methodist Dallas.
