Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency
Welcome from the Director of the Methodist Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program
Thank you for your interest in the residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas. We are very proud of the program that we have here and are pleased that you are considering joining us for the next four years.
We have assembled a curriculum that acknowledges the importance of both the clinical and educational components of residency training. Our clinical rotations offer a broad exposure to general obstetrics and gynecology and to the various subspecialties in our field. We also train our residents to provide essential primary care to their patients. We pride ourselves in giving our residents protected time for structured educational activities, which includes:
- Lectures in the core curriculum
- Hands-on training in our surgical skills
- Robotic assisted procedures & certification
with the da Vinci Surgical System
- Procedure conferences
- Patient care simulation activities
- Journal Clubs
- Grand Rounds
- Morbidity and Mortality Conferences
- Team-based Learning
- Tumor Boards
A majority of the residents’ training is done at Methodist Dallas Medical Center (MDMC), a private 585 bed tertiary care facility and one of the leading teaching and referral hospitals in all of Texas, and the Golden Cross Academic Clinic, one of the nation’s finest resident clinics. Our continuity clinics are in routine obstetrics and gynecology, along with subspecialty care in maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (FPMRS), and gynecologic oncology.
After exploring our website if you have any additional questions or if you would like to arrange a tour of our facilities, please feel free to contact us. We would love to show you around!
