Since the first kidney transplant at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in 1981, independently practicing physicians on the medical staff of the Methodist Dallas Transplant Institute have been leading the way in performing kidney transplants, combined kidney-pancreas transplants, and pancreas transplants.
The Transplant Institute is a major referral center for patients with chronic kidney disease who may be candidates for a kidney-pancreas transplant.
Each year, more than 70 kidney transplants are performed at the Methodist Dallas Transplant Institute.
More than 10 percent of our kidney transplant patients come from Puerto Rico, while others travel from Central and South America, the Middle East, and Asia.
