Level III Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Methodist Dallas Medical Center 

Methodist Dallas Medical Center has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to provide provide intensive care for fragile infants.

The 50-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Methodist Dallas delivers care around the clock to premature and low birth-weight infants born at our hospital and infants referred to us from hospitals throughout the North and East Texas region.

Infants and families are cared for by a multidisciplinary team including: 

  • Neonatal intensive care nurses
  • Neonatal respiratory therapists
  • Educators
  • Discharge planners

The Methodist Dallas NICU was established in 1978, the second facility of its kind in Dallas. In 2004, the NICU underwent a $2.7 million construction and renovation project. The Methodist Dallas neonatal transport program was the first of its kind in the Dallas area when it was established in 1980.

 

Texas law prohibits hospitals from practicing medicine. The physicians on the Methodist Health System medical staff are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Methodist Health System.
